Healthydaes
is proudly introducing a weight management
system. This focuses on losing weight
under the medical supervision. The only
way to create sustainable weight loss
is to ensure 4 key events take place as
you lose weight.
*Lose only fat while protecting your muscle
mass.
*Lose the fate eating NORMAL FOODS so
you learn the "good, bad and ugly" about
food.
*Have your food allergies pinpointed as
one food allergen can bring all the weight
back again.
*Have your body's "weak links" supported
that can stop you from maintaining weight
loss over time.
This system handles all these events and
I will help you to reach your weight loss
goals. Call to inquire about how this
can work for you 301-920-1225. The
first 10 patients to sign up for this
program will get an early bird discount.

| Recipe for the Month...Turkey and Vegetable
Soup
This is particularly
good to make whenever you are
feeling under the weather and
want something nutritious to
eat. The broth is easy to digest
and will help give the electrolytes
you need to speed your recovery.
Dr. Daemon's Healing Turkey
and Vegetable Soup
1-2 tablespoon olive oil
5 Celery stalks chopped
2 parsnips coarsely chopped
2 yellow onions, coarsely chopped
2-3 carrots, coarsely chopped
1 cup dehydrated wild mushrooms
(I like Trader Joe's Dehydrated
wild mushroom)
2 cups butternut squash cubed
8 large garlic cloves, crushed
1 tablespoon of dried thyme
1 tablespoon of dried parsley
1 teaspoon of dried sage
1 teaspoon of salt
1 bay leaf
1 teaspoon of freshly ground
black pepper
2 whole cloves
3 quarts water
4 skinned turkey legs (with
bones)
Preheat oven to 400 degrees
F. In a large bowl toss the
oil with onions, carrots, 4
cloves of garlic (1/2 of the
garlic), butternut squash, and
parsnips until lightly coated.
Arrange the vegetables as flat
as possible in a roasting pan.
Place pan in oven and roast,
stirring once, for 30 - 45 minutes
or until golden brown and tender.
In a large saucepan or stock
pot combine bring water to a
boil and add chicken, 4 cloves
of the garlic (other ½ of the
garlic), celery, dehydrated
mushrooms, thyme, parsley, bay
leaf, black pepper, clove, sage
and water. Bring to a boil reduce
heat and simmer, stirring occasionally.
Once the vegetables are roasted
add them to the pot along with
the salt and cook for another
20 minutes. Cooking time is
about an hour in total. The
meat will be in large pieces
and you might want to take them
out of the soup and cut them
into smaller pieces and put
them back into the soup.
TO MAKE THIS VEGETARIAN DO NOT
ADD TURKEY INSTEAD USE YOUR
FAVORITE PRE-SOAKED BEANS 2
CUPS COOK UNTIL BEANS ARE SOFT.

TIP
FOR THE MONTH How is your heart?
Have you ever noticed that February
focuses on the heart?
February is heart health awareness month.
Were you aware of that? If you are 50
years of age or older - have you had
all your health screening? If not, use
this newsletter as a reminder to call
you doctor and get scheduled for them.
Women did you know that leading cause
of death in the US for women is heart
disease not CANCER. If you are having
problems with hypertension, high cholesterol
and you want to treat it naturally call
the office to find out how Dr. Daemon
can support you in this goal, 301- 920-1225.
One of the main factors affecting the
heart is stress. If you are living a
drama or stress filled life you have
a higher chance of having heart disease
in the future. Make sure to incorporate
stress management techniques in every
day.
February 14th is Valentine's day and
once you take away all the commercialism
the focus is on sharing love with one
another. Love can be a powerful healing
tool for anything that ails you. Have
you taken stock in how much energy you
are putting into loving yourself? Remember
you must love yourself before you can
love someone else. Take some quiet time
to make sure you are giving yourself
the your greatest gift of health - YOUR
LOVE! Once you have that you will have
an abundance to share with everyone
else in your life.
Thank you for being a loyal Healthydaes
Naturopathic Medical Center patient.
We will continue to provide you valuable
savings opportunities as well as community
announcements.
In Health,
Dr. Daemon
